ABOUT US AND WHAT WE DO

We are a group of counsellors and psychotherapists that facilitate self-knowledge, emotional acceptance, growth, and the optional development of personal resources on a one-to-one basis.

We assist clients in working towards their personal goals and gaining greater insight into their lives. We work with our clients online and face-to-face or home visits.

Deborah is the director of the Psychotherapy Counselling Clinic.
She adopts a collaborative approach with her clients, with success depending upon the two parties working together in therapy. She focuses on clients with active listening, empathising, and reflecting on clients’ stories.

She supports clients in identifying their goals and potential solutions to their issues and possibly provides strategies to support their daily lives. Talk therapy helps support clients achieve their behavioural changing goals. Deborah does not give advice. However, she is not a 'passive' listener but an 'active' listener.

She also supports adults and children with ASD, ADHD, bipolar and other debilitating issues, including stress, anxiety, and depression. However, there is a diversity of reasons why clients attend therapy. It is maybe because they constantly feel different and suspect they might have an underlain disorder, or something is distressing that they need someone empathetic to listen. That someone is non-judgemental, in an environment with a space that provides silence for thought, time for reflection, and where clients can talk in peace.

During the past 20 years, Deborah has worked in Hong Kong and Singapore and is now back in Australia. Her experience is that early intervention is the best practice. She specialises in person-centred therapy, positive behavioural therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical therapy, and mindfulness. Sometimes Deborah uses more of an eclectic approach to help support her clients in achieving their goals.
