ABOUT US AND WHAT WE DO

Deborah Cameron recognises that her clients have unique strengths and perspectives and believes that self-knowledge, emotional acceptance, growth, and optional development are the client's personal resources. With support, the client can travel their own journey, in their own way and perspective of experiencing the world.

She provides space where clients work towards their personal goals and gain greater insight into their lives. Affirming their growth through their own strength and capacity in a non-judgmental space, both online and on face-to-face or home visits.

Deborah is the Director of  'Psychotherapy Counselling Clinic.'
She adopts a person-centred, multimodal approach with her clients, with success depending upon the two parties working together in therapy. She focuses on clients with active listening, empathy, and reflection on clients’ stories.

She supports clients in identifying their goals and potential solutions to their issues and possibly provides strategies to support their daily lives. Talk therapy helps support clients achieve their behaviorally changing goals. Deborah does not give advice. However, she is not a 'passive' listener but an 'active' listener.

Her passion is to support neurodiversity, ASD, ADHD, bipolar, stress, anxiety, and depression. However, there are many reasons why clients attend therapy. It is maybe because they constantly feel different and no one is listening with a non-judgmental perspective.

During the past 25 years, Deborah has worked in Hong Kong and Singapore and is now back in Australia. Her experience is that early intervention is the best practice. She specialises in person-centred therapy, positive behavioural therapy, cognitive behaviour therapy, dialectical therapy, and weaving mindfulness into her practice.
